How do Saju and tarot differ, and which suits which kind of question?

One-line answer

Saju is a system that reads innate temperament and the long currents of 10-year and 1-year cycles from the eight characters of the moment of birth, while tarot is a tool that reflects the present situation and the choice at hand through cards drawn at the moment of asking. Saju gives the same result for the same person whenever it is read; tarot differs every time you draw. For lifelong aptitude and timing, Saju is the fit; for a decision right now or sorting out your feelings today, tarot is.

How do the two systems differ?

The input differs. Saju uses fixed information, your birth date and time, while tarot uses a question and the choice (the card) made at that moment. So Saju is deterministic (the same input gives the same output) and tarot is probabilistic. The time range differs too. Saju reads the flow in units of 10-year Luck Pillars, 1-year yearly luck and 1-month monthly luck, while tarot usually looks at matters within a few weeks to a few months.

The use differs as well. Saju is strong on structural questions like 'what kind of person am I and when should I make a move', while tarot is strong at sorting out your feelings at a concrete fork like 'should I text this person or not'. Neither is a prophecy that fixes the future; both are reference tools for organizing your thinking.

How do you use them together?

A natural combination is to set the big direction with Saju and decide today's action with tarot. For example, confirm with Saju which month this year your love luck arrives, and in that month draw one tarot card before a blind date to check your frame of mind. Sajunyang offers both the birth-date-based Saju report and the daily one-card cat tarot, free.
